Children's series concert: 30 minutes of music plus instrumental show-and-tell in a relaxed, informal setting, aimed at young children and families. Starts promptly at 3pm; bookings essential.
Featured instrument: the musette — a bellows-blown French bagpipe, gentler in sound than the Scottish bagpipe and played indoors by the French nobility — introduced by guest Simon Rickard. The final piece was accompanied by a story devised for the concert.
Musicians: Simon Rickard (musette), John Ma (violin, viola d'amore), Marie Searles (harpsichord).
